The church over again
Repent ye and turn back to the Lord, for the end is here, and obviously, we end with a “thus says the Lord”. Perhaps we need to. And if there is something I have ever prized in life is going to church. I enjoy the songs and then doze off when it comes to preaching. I too need a miracle.
A couple of years ago when my mum used to urge to go to church, the number of faithful was promising. One could easily conclude that salvation was at hand. I can recall those days when we used to go to church very early, and leave hours later. Evening sessions were a daily order. Fine, things are changing and we have also “transformed”.
One preacher argues that the number of outflow in our churches is much higher as compared to the influx. In my adventure last week in a local church, I realized that People haven't made a habit to worship God. People all worship - and most people worship themselves. “How can we worship God and then ignore his command of do not forsake meeting together”, Hebrews 10:24-25 states so.
I don't really like to put the blame on anyone else for their deeds, but this did make a lot of sense to me. A former usher in some church said that she had to quit church because of number of reasons.
We go to church to worship God, she began. Have you ever realized that those who go to church are serious hypocrites? They look good at the eyes when they are rotten inside. In fact the Bible says that we have coated ourselves with the skins of sheep while we are wild dogs. A sinner is a sinner whether you go to church or not.
The major reason why people don’t go to church is the issue of “money order”. It doesn’t matter where you come from; the point is you must meet your goal. Fundraising has dominated our churches today; blame it all on the rising economic standards.
Many Churches today are more worried about the doctrine of the Church than they are about the Word of the Lord. Some people are more concerned about the Word of the Lord than the doctrine. That is why they have chosen to stay out of church. There is too much conflict in the religious circles that is not taught in the Bible. Many religious organizations think that theirs is the only true way. The only true way is to follow the Word of the Lord. If all of the religious organizations of the world would just understand we love the same Jesus, God and Holy Spirit and quit calling for the separation, we would all be better off.
A lot of people go to church just because they feel like they have to or need to and others go because they feel like they'll be judged if they don't. The church has been turned into a fashion show, a competition ground for politicians and socialites. Why should I go to church if my living standard is low? Many churches want people to get involved, but to be levelheaded, who has time for that anymore?
Well, if we actually followed Christ, and lived like he lived, and wanted to serve him, the world would be a much better place. For now though we have this fake Christianity, and I don't think it will ever get better we can renovate and change the lives of many. The need to judge a book by its cover is totally superfluous.
